I curate exhibitions, write about art and advise on
cultural adventures.
Since November 2012, I have been the director of MEWO Kunsthalle
as well as of Antoniter-
and Strigel-Museum
in the Bavarian town of Memmingen.
Currently, until 30 September 2024, I am on sabbatical.
The Blog Lappalien
is an outlet for my musings on art and culture.
The latest exhibition I curated at MEWO Kunsthalle, FERNWEH,
has just finished on 4 February 2024. Starting point was the
Chinese Room from the 18. century at the Hermansbau in
Memmingen and it explored issues of exoticism and cultural
approximation by confronting the historic materiel with
contemporary art. With contributions by Sonia Boyce, Jérôme
Chazeix, Ming Lu and Carlos Monroy feat. Patrick Schmid.
